Double Chin Reduction Surgery
Most of the time, general anesthesia is preferred for Full Facelift Surgery, but it can also be performed under local anesthesia with sedation, depending on the patient’s needs and the surgeon’s recommendations.
Incision and Procedure:
In a typical Full Facelift Surgery, the surgeon begins by making an incision within the hairline just above the ear. The incision continues down along the front edge of the ear, around the earlobe, and then extends behind the ear into the hairline. This placement ensures that scars are discreet and well-hidden once healed. The same incision pattern is repeated on the other side of the face.
The surgeon then carefully lifts the skin in the subcutaneous plane, up to the cheek (including the nasolabial fold), below the chin, and around the neck. The SMAS (Superficial Musculoaponeurotic System) muscle layer is also tightened and repositioned to restore a more youthful contour and firmness to the face. Afterward, the skin is repositioned, and the incisions are sutured to complete the procedure.
Medications and Precautions:
Patients should avoid medications that can affect blood clotting, such as aspirin, non-aspirin pain relievers, and female hormones before the surgery. These medications can increase the risk of bleeding during and after the procedure. It is crucial to follow the surgeon’s instructions regarding medication use before surgery to ensure a smooth recovery and optimal results.
Ageing signs may be countered and facial appearance may be greatly improved by a cosmetic procedure called face lift surgery. The procedure includes surgical re-positioning of some skin tissues and muscle tissues in the areas of neck and face. The procedure improves the skin that has sagged or loosened due to gravity with age. Face lift surgery offer little benefit to the wrinkles present around eyes and mouth. Entire face correction may require a series of procedures including dermabrasion, chemical peel or blepharoplasty.

FAQ
A double chin can be caused by several factors, including genetics, aging, weight gain, or a weak jawline. As we age, skin loses elasticity, and fat deposits may accumulate under the chin, leading to the appearance of a double chin.
Double chin reduction can be achieved through various methods, including liposuction, Kybella injections, or non-surgical treatments like CoolSculpting or thread lifts. The best option depends on your individual needs and the degree of fat and skin laxity.
Most double chin reduction procedures are minimally invasive and performed under local anesthesia or sedation. You may experience some discomfort or swelling post-procedure, but pain is generally manageable and subsides within a few days.
Recovery time varies depending on the procedure. For liposuction, most patients can return to work within 3-5 days, while swelling may take 2-3 weeks to subside fully. Non-surgical options like Kybella have a shorter recovery time, with results gradually improving over a few weeks.
Results from liposuction or Kybella treatments become noticeable within 3-6 weeks, as swelling decreases and the skin tightens. Full results are typically seen within 3 months, though non-surgical treatments may require more than one session for optimal results.
