Mid-Facelift in Delhi: Benefits, Procedure, Recovery and Cost
Changes around the cheeks and under the eyes can be among the early signs of facial ageing. As facial tissues lose support and move downwards, the cheeks may look flatter, the under-eye area may appear hollow, and the folds beside the nose may become more noticeable.
A mid-facelift targets these changes by lifting and repositioning the tissues in the middle of the face. At Dr Gambhir Centre, the approach is planned around your facial structure, the degree of sagging and the changes you would like to achieve.
What Is a Mid-Facelift?
A mid-facelift is a surgical procedure that lifts the middle part of the face, particularly the cheeks and the area beneath the eyes. The aim is to restore cheek contour and improve the transition between the lower eyelids and cheeks.
A conventional facelift often addresses the lower face, jawline and neck, although some techniques also lift the midface. A dedicated mid-facelift focuses more specifically on the cheek area. The right procedure depends on where the ageing changes are most noticeable.
At our centre, Dr Gambhir performs mid-facelift surgery using an endoscopic approach through incisions within the hairline or an approach through the lower eyelid, depending on the treatment plan.
What Are the Benefits of a Mid-Facelift?
A mid-facelift aims to restore a more youthful cheek contour while preserving your natural facial features. Depending on your anatomy, it may help to:
- Lift sagging cheeks.
- Soften nasolabial folds the lines running from the sides of the nose towards the corners of the mouth.
- Improve cheek fullness by repositioning existing tissue.
- Reduce the appearance of under-eye hollowness associated with descending cheek tissue.
- Create a smoother transition between the lower eyelids and cheeks.
The procedure repositions tissue; it does not directly add new volume. During your consultation, Dr Gambhir will assess how much of your concern comes from sagging and how much comes from volume loss.
Who Is a Suitable Candidate for a Mid-Facelift?
There is no single age at which everyone needs facial surgery. Ageing affects each person differently, and suitability depends on facial changes, general health and personal goals.
A mid-facelift may be suitable if you:
- Have early to moderate sagging in the cheek area.
- Notice deeper nasolabial folds or hollowness beneath the eyes.
- Mainly want to address the middle of your face.
- Are in good general health and suitable for surgery.
- Have realistic expectations about the outcome.
During your consultation at Dr Gambhir Centre, we assess your facial features and discuss whether a mid-facelift alone would address your concerns.
What Happens During the Consultation?
The first step is a consultation with Dr Gambhir to review your medical history, facial structure and treatment goals.
You will discuss the areas you would like to improve, the recommended technique, incision placement, anaesthesia, recovery and possible risks. Please also share details of any medicines, supplements and previous facial treatments.
The consultation gives you time to ask questions and understand what the procedure can realistically achieve.
What Happens on the Day of Surgery?
On the day of your mid-facelift, the hospital team will guide you through admission and preparation. Dr Gambhir and the anaesthesia team will review the surgical plan with you.
The procedure is performed under the planned anaesthetic, which may include general anaesthesia delivered intravenously, known as total intravenous anaesthesia (TIVA). The incisions are placed as discussed during your consultation.
Surgery may take a few hours, depending on the technique and whether other procedures are included.
Afterwards, you will be monitored in the recovery area. You may be able to go home the same day once the team confirms that you are ready for discharge. Arrange for a responsible adult to take you home and help during the initial recovery period.

Before & After Results

Types of Rhinoplasty Surgery
Endoscopic Mid-Facelift
An endoscopic mid-facelift uses small incisions within the hairline. An endoscope a thin instrument with a camera helps the surgeon view and lift the underlying tissues.
This approach may be combined with a brow lift when both the brow and cheek areas need correction.
Mid-Facelift Through the Lower Eyelid
In selected patients, the cheek tissues can be lifted through a lower eyelid incision. This approach may be combined with lower blepharoplasty when there are concerns involving both the lower eyelids and cheeks.
Dr Gambhir will explain which approach is appropriate for your facial anatomy and goals.

You may experience discomfort, tenderness or tightness after surgery. Prescribed pain relief can help manage these symptoms. Contact your surgical team if pain becomes severe or increases unexpectedly.
A mid-facelift involves an initial consultation, preoperative assessment, surgery and follow-up visits.
You may have two to four postoperative appointments initially, with additional reviews depending on your healing. These visits allow the team to check your incisions, monitor swelling and address concerns.
You will begin to see changes as swelling reduces over the first few weeks. Your cheek contour may become clearer over the following weeks, but residual swelling and tissue settling can continue for several months. The timing varies between patients.
A mid-facelift mainly targets the cheeks and the area beneath the eyes. If your main concerns are jowls, jawline definition or loose neck skin, a different or additional procedure may be more suitable.
Discuss Your Mid-Facelift Options With Dr SS Gambhir
If sagging cheeks or changes beneath your eyes are your main concerns, a consultation can help you understand which treatment may be suitable. At Dr Gambhir Centre, we will assess your facial structure, discuss your goals and explain the procedure, recovery and expected outcome before you decide.
Mid-Facelift Recovery: What to Expect
Swelling, bruising and tightness are expected after surgery. These usually improve gradually over the first few weeks, although some swelling can take longer to settle. You may feel ready to return to desk work or light activities after around two weeks, depending on your healing and your surgeon’s advice. This does not mean that recovery is complete.
