WHAT IS OF WIDE NOSE?
Wide nose job or nose reshaping works by changing the shape of cartilage or bone. This type of plastic surgery is very common and is chosen by many people. People get nose repair done to correct the defect caused during birth or injury later in life. Sometimes it is also done for better breathing difficulty. Some people who are not very happy with the appearance of their nose, they undergo nose surgery to improve the look of their nose and face. The most likely change the surgeon will make on your nose will be either the shape or angle or the modification of the tip of the nose. Other modifications include reducing the gap between the nostril and the alignment of the nasal bridge.
There are some guidelines regarding the age that people need to follow before deciding to go for nasal surgery. If this surgery is being done to treat difficulty in breathing then it can be done at any age. However, if this is being done only for superficial purposes, then adolescents should grow until their nasal bone is fully developed. The age limit for girls is 15 while for boys it is higher.

WHO IS NOT ELIGIBLE FOR A WIDE NOSE JOB?
Those who are under 15 years of age and still undergoing nasal bone development are not eligible. Also, people who are suffering from hemophilia or any other serious health disorder are advised not to go for voluntary surgery.
ARE THERE ANY SIDE EFFECTS OF A COMPREHENSIVE NOSE JOB?
Rhinoplasty, like all surgeries, has some complications or side effects. These include bleeding, infection and adverse reactions to anesthesia such as nausea, vomiting, dizziness. Other side effects of rhinoplasty include bleeding from the nose, scars, difficulty breathing and a numb nose. In the first two days, patients will experience swelling, headache, easy bruising, and bleeding.
PRE OPERATIVE APPROACH FOR NOSE SURGERY.
Before starting the treatment process, you will need to sit down for an initial round of discussion with your doctor to determine if you should pass under the nose operation in the first place. The doctor will conduct a thorough examination of your past medical history. He will ask you about any current health condition or any prescription or non-prescription drugs that you will be taking at this time.
I Next, the doctor will conduct a thorough physical examination where he will study the nasal skin on both the inside and the outside. Your nose will also be photographed from all angles to assess your case in the future and in terms of the timing of surgery. This helps him decide what modifications are needed. You will be asked to do some laboratory tests or blood tests.
Patients will be asked to stop smoking at least one month before surgery because cigarettes slow down the healing process and also reduce your blood vessels and hampers oxidation. Also, you will be asked not to take aspirin and ibuprofen for at least two weeks before the scheduled surgery as these drugs slow down the blood clotting process.
WHO IS ELIGIBLE FOR THE WIDE NOSE JOB?
All patients who are both physically and mentally stable are eligible for rhinoplasty or nasal surgery.
WHAT ARE THE POST-TREATMENT GUIDELINES?
Immediately after surgery, the surgeon will put a plastic mound over the nose to maintain alignment and you will be placed back in the hospital for a few hours to monitor for any serious side effects. After your nasal surgery as a part of the post-treatment guidelines, you will be asked to refrain from taking aspirin and ibuprofen for another two weeks in addition to two weeks before surgery. You will also be told by the doctor to stay as hydrated as possible and to get as much rest as possible. To reduce swelling at the site of injury you would be advised to use a cold compress. Also, try to avoid activities and exercises that will put pressure on your body.
HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO RECOVER?
The time it takes to recover from rhinoplasty or nasal surgery can range from a few days to a few weeks.

Although the cost of nasal surgery depends largely on the complexity of the surgery, it costs you around Rs. 40,000 to Rs. 2 lakhs in India.
